Not quite true, as my CD-Rom drive claims to support the PIO 5 mode, but if 5 is
used, then the Amiga can't mount the cd drive. If I use 4, everything is fine.

The software does not allow you to select a PIO mode higher than the drive says
it supports... wether the drive ACTUALLY supports it is another matter!
